Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about access, features, technology, and how Game Companion works during the private alpha.
Features & Brains
What is a "Brain Package"?
A Brain Package is an instant upgrade for a specific game, available from our Brain Store. It includes a massive set of pre-configured voice commands, custom AI responses, and a fine-tuned knowledge base, letting you get started right away.
Which games have Brain Packages?
We currently offer Brain Packages for Windows 11, Minecraft, Helldivers 2, and Star Citizen. Our library is constantly growing, with more games added based on community demand.
Can I customize a Brain Package?
Yes. Once you download a Brain, all its voice commands, keybinds, and AI responses are fully customizable. You can edit them to fit your playstyle or add your own creations.
Does this work with any game?
Yes, the core macro and command features work with any PC game. For advanced AI knowledge, you can use a pre-made Brain Package or build a custom brain for your game of choice.
Technology & AI Providers
What's the difference between the Game Companion AI and a custom provider?
The built-in Game Companion AI routes requests through our curated game-knowledge layer for the most accurate, context-aware answers. Custom providers (when enabled) are more general-purpose and won’t include the same curated game data or tuning.
Can I use Game Companion for free?
Yes. Core features can run locally on your PC for free. This includes using a local Whisper model for voice recognition and local Microsoft TTS voices for audio output. Advanced AI conversations and premium voice models require a subscription.
Is my data private when using local models?
Yes. When you use the local Whisper and Microsoft TTS models, your voice data is processed entirely on your machine and is never sent to the cloud for speech-to-text or text-to-speech. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
How does the AI remember our conversation?
We use a session-based system that keeps short-term context so follow-up questions work naturally within a play session. It’s designed for multi-step tasks and deeper lore discussions without repeating yourself.
